Ship history

The vessel is equipped with the most modern solutions for DP2, oil recovery and fire-fighting. The ship is recognised as medium-sized PSV, and has a cargo deck of approx. 850 sqm and under-deck capacities. She accommodates up to 30 persons, and is built according to IMO's SPS code for Special Purpose Ships. When the AHC crane and the ROV mezzanine deck are installed, the vessel can easily be configured for IMR (Inspection, Maintenance, Repair), ROV support, trenching and light subsea construction work.

'Energy Empress' is one of two platform supply vessels for Golden Energy Offshore, the other being the 'Energy Duchess'. The vessels are based on the PX121 design from Ulstein, and customised with one extra accommodation deck. Built at the Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipments Co., Ltd ("ROC") yard, China.

At the announcement of the design contract in 2014, Per Ivar Fagervoll, CEO in Golden Energy Offshore, said that: "Golden Energy Offshore is a fully integrated ship owning company located in Ålesund, Norway, with all management functions in-house. In addition to design, ULSTEIN also delivers a significant package including equipment, supervision, commissioning and testing, which has been instrumental and a condition for us to enter into this series of vessels. There is also other Norwegian equipment on-board including the accommodation interior package, delivered in accordance with Norwegian standards."
